U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Warsaw, Poland, under the auspices of the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, was invited to a Business Reception hosted by Ambassador Victor Ashe at his residence |
Ambassador Victor Ashe hosted a reception for 120 local U.S. business representatives at his Warsaw residence. The event served as a thank you for the large American business community in Poland, with which the Embassy works closely in promoting trade and investment. Asilomar Annual Conference "From London to Moscow: New Faces, Old Alliances", Monterey Peninsula, California
The World Affairs Council of Northern California held its 62nd conference successfully and significantly achieving its goal in staging profound discussions on critical issues in the shifting transatlantic political landscape and policy prescriptions for the United States moving forward. IMMA Ltd President/CEO, Caroline Brownstone, served as moderator for the session on “Forecast for European Political and Economic Institutions”. The Conference embodied some 25 distinguished speakers and council members to explore the implications of changing leadership in Europe and the dynamics of Europe's transatlantic relationships, delving into specifics on Russia, Turkey, NATO and energy, as well as exploring the broader issues of foreign policy, governance and future EU expansion. At the Banker's Club in San Francisco, California, the World Affairs Council of No. California Board Chairman, George James, hosted a reception honoring His Excellency Valdmus Adamkus, President of the Republic of Lithuania on the occasion of Lithuanian Independence Day. Warsaw Symposium, USPTC/IMMA Ltd "Transferring Silicon Valley Venture Capital to Central East Europe"
At Warsaw, Poland's Bristol Hotel, noted Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Franklin Pitch Johnson, honored a distinguished gathering of Polish senators, U.S. Embassy officials, Polish Government officials, professors, and the former President of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal with a presentation and collaborative discussion on the venue of venture financing between the U.S. and Poland.
The Symposium was organized and hosted by IMMA Ltd as the corporate financial sponsor on behalf of the U.S. Polish Trade Council (USPTC) as a Silicon Valley based, non-profit organization founded by a group of senior U.S.-based corporate executives and business leaders with professional, technical and practical working experience and accomplishments to develop collaborative research and innovative business development between the U.S. and Poland. USPTC's goal is to work in partnership with a network of Polish and American organizations to expand transatlantic trade, investment and cooperation in fields of technology, biotechnology, and science. A significant highlight was cited by Prof. Dr. Michal Kleiber, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences and speaking for all the guests, that a clear acknowledgement, commitment and encouragement prevails in support of the USPTC mission to work closely with governments and trade associations at the national level.

State of Qatar 6th Doha Forum on "Democracy, Development and Free Trade" |

As a member of the World Affairs Council of Northern California Board of Trustees, Caroline Brownstone was invited by State of Qatar Ambassador Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to attend the State of Qatar Doha Forum. Over 560 delegates from 72 countries attended the Forum, including 118 from the Americas. The delegates held a session on the growing role of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and its increasing impact on the international economic system.
Of prominent mention during the three day conference were participating sessions on “Regional Institutions and Challenges”, “Strengthening the Partnership between the Public and Private Sectors”, and “Models of Cooperation and Economic Integration”. Additionally, Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabir Al Thani spoke at a session on Enhancing Democracy and Combating Terrorism.

Warsaw, Poland Reception For Leading European Historian
This newsworthy reception of distinguished international guests, hosted by IMMA Ltd in Warsaw, gathered to honor one of Europe's leading historians, Norman Davies (pictured center below), author of the best-selling book, Rising '44: Battle for Warsaw. The reception was privileged with the attendance of the British Ambassador to Poland, as well as many European historians and journalists. Professor Davies' previous books include God's Playground: A History of Poland (Volumes I and II) and Heart of Europe: A Short History of Poland, Professor Davies is a senior member of Wolfson College, Oxford, and a Fellow of the British Academy.

Croatia Southeast Europe Financial Sector Conference |

This noteworthy USAID sponsored conference, attended by IMMA Ltd, explored ways to build and accelerate positive financial sector trends in Southeast Europe (SEE), reducing obstacles for the development of a sound, vibrant financial sector and providing a forum for the private sector and government representatives of financial markets in the region. Foremost was a focus on practical solutions challenging the establishment of a dynamic financial sector, creating a role in the private sector for sustainable economic growth.

Ukraine/Moldova/Belarus Women Entrepreneurship

A "Women Entrepreneurship" Program for business owners from Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, under the auspices of USAID, was uniquely designed to provide training participants with exemplary tools to expand their personal management and marketing skills to accelerate the growth of their companies, develop valuable professional linkages with successful U.S. women entrepreneurs, and facilitate support organizations of woman business networks upon return to their home countries. Following the "KCBS Executive Expo & Conference on Small Business" Ludmilla Yakovleva, Director of the Ukraine Agency for the Development of Enterprise, is interviewed by financial reporter Bob Price of KCBS Radio at San Francisco's at Moscone Convention Center. A Delegation of Women Entrepreneurs from Ukraine and Belarus participated in a dynamic program on "Creating Economic Opportunities for Women" conducted by IMMA Ltd as guests of USAID. Through the professional cooperation of the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and Washington DC, the participants gained an improved understanding of the Western concepts of entrepreneurship, as the San Francisco Bay Area has highest percentage of women-owned businesses in the United States. Among the invited guests at a reception following the program included the U.S. Small Business Administration, State of California Trade and Commerce Agency, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, the Bay Area Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders, and the San Francisco Women's Technology Cluster, as well as Bay Area entrepreneurs who provide professional guidance and wisdom.
